The Eternal Pink

Our new 2.06 carat vivid pink diamond is nothing short of extraordinary. It boasts exceptional VS clarity - an incredible rarity in pink diamonds, paired with a super vivid candyfloss hue. Flanked by a perfect pair of pink diamonds, the central stone is framed with a fine rim of rose gold to accentuate its colour and shape, further enhanced by a double halo of pink and white diamonds.

“This 2.06 carat pink diamond is the most beautiful diamond in the world… and it now belongs to Boodles.”

Jody Wainwright, Boodles Managing Director

Jody first heard about this rough diamond at the end of 2023 through two brothers he has worked with for years - one sources rough diamonds, and the other oversees the polishing. Over the last few years, we’ve bought some remarkable stones from them, including a 10-carat pink diamond, a large heart-shaped diamond and one or two blues. Their speciality is in finding beautiful rough diamonds, which is always risky due to the unpredictability of how they’ll turn out, especially with coloured stones. You hope for the best, but coloured diamonds often don’t always come out as expected.

This particular rough weighed almost 30 carats and produced four principal stones along with several smaller ones. The key stones were a 3 carat, a 2 carat, and a matching pair of 1 carat diamonds - all vivid. The 2 carat stone, the one Jody was first told about, was described as 'super vivid.' Weighing 2.06 carats, it’s the stone we’ve just acquired. It is VS clarity (very rare in pink diamonds to be this pure) and has a beautiful spread, which is significant because “fancy colours” are often cut deeper to enhance their colour. However, this one easily spreads its weight, the diamond has no ‘windows’ or dead spots, which is very rare and very important for pink diamonds. No matter how you look at it, even from the back, it radiates a deep candyfloss pink. It’s a truly extraordinary stone.

The "Candyfloss" Pink

A true treasure of a piece, this remarkable 2.02 carat fancy intense pink diamond has a colour that’s best described as 'candyfloss' or 'hubba-bubba' pink - bright, saturated, and incredibly rare.

2.02 carat fancy intense pink diamond

It began life as an old mine stone, and we’ve carefully repolished it to bring out its best, while retaining the character of its original cushion cut.

What’s particularly special about this diamond is its spread. It’s not a deep stone, which is unusual for pinks, yet it holds such strong saturation that it appears closer in size to a 2.5 carat cushion pink diamond. Pink diamonds are rarely clean, as they often feature inclusions, but this one is VS clarity - making it a real collector’s piece.

"It’s not just the colour of this pink diamond that makes it remarkable; it’s the combination of a big look, beautiful clarity, and a rich, vibrant hue. A diamond like this doesn’t come along very often..."

Jody Wainwright, Boodles Managing Director

Designers chose to set the stone in one of Boodles’ iconic designs, a modern twist on Art Deco - a style we are celebrating this year. The 2.02 carat fancy intense pink diamond is surrounded by a halo of white round brilliant-cut and baguette-cut diamonds, set in pink Single Mine Origin gold and platinum to truly exemplify the vibrancy of the stone’s colour.

The surrounding pink and white diamonds include calibrated baguette cuts, each cut to precision to fit perfectly into the design, leading the eye up to the spectacularly vibrant pink diamond centrepiece. Look closely, and you’ll notice an accent of white enamel and delicate white diamonds on the inside of the ring, adding that signature touch of Boodles sparkle… that only the wearer knows is there!
