The interior of our Garden Room on Sloane Street in London uses 300-year-old wood repurposed for our display at the Chelsea Flower Show 2021.

Climate Action

Although jewellery is the focal point of our business, we believe in a holistic approach to sustainability. Over the past few years we have examined every component of the Boodles brand, from our packaging and printing, to the energy and materials we use in our showrooms. We have made meaningful changes to all of these areas and are always looking for ways in which to better our operations.

Carbon Accounting

We are delighted that all ten of our Boodles showrooms, as well as our two head offices, are powered by renewable energy sources.

Furthermore, as part of our ongoing sustainability drive we have been engaging with environmental experts to actively monitor and mitigate our carbon footprint. We are in the process of establishing concrete reduction targets and implementing a set of tangible methods in order to achieve these goals. Once these targets have been set our aim is to minimise our environmental impact and contribute towards a more sustainable future.

Recyclable packaging & printing

The packaging and paper we use to create our little touches of Boodles Pink had a major overhaul in 2017. All of our bags, ecommerce packaging and brochures now use fully recyclable, FSC certified paper. It took months of research and lots of testing to make sure we weren’t compromising on our Boodles quality and we love the outcome.

Internal Efforts

We understand that small efforts can go a long way and are always looking at the little changes we can make in order to better our processes.

We recently switched all of our soaps and candles to organic, refillable ones from Laura Thomas Co. Not only do they smell delicious and use natural ingredients, but this has also reduced the plastic waste across our ten shops.

During the renovations of our Sloane Street showroom we opted to create a large wall using repurposed wood in our Garden Room. This wood originates from an oak tree, which was initially planted over 300 years ago and then felled as part of a major UK infrastructure project, meaning it has been entirely sustainably sourced. It was subsequently used by garden designer Tom Hoblyn and sculptor Jan Hendzel for the Boodles Secret Garden at the Chelsea Flower show in 2021. We like to think the tree has now entered its ‘third life’ at Boodles Sloane Street, only a few miles from where it was initially planted!
