November 2013
After almost a year in the making we were delighted to share the world of Boodles with viewers across the UK and Ireland, as our documentary The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles aired on Channel 4. It was with anticipation that we remained glued to our screens as a subject that seems so familiar to us became that of fascination to others. Twitter began chirping with comments and intrigue as our company was unveiled and laid bare for all to see.
In the lead up to the programme, many people, some sceptical, asked us why we decided to take part in this project… ‘It’s the team behind Inside Claridges’ we’d say amongst conversations about Boodles ‘characters’ (you can guess who these are!), our brand heritage and how proud we are to have the opportunity to share our story… However in retrospect, I think we are privileged to have been given the opportunity to offer an educational insight into the fascinating world of craftsmanship, talent and rarity that surrounds the industry; an insight and a journey that so few people are privy to, yet so many express an interest in… Overall we hope that amongst the ‘foxes glacier mint’ references, you learnt a little more about the often mysterious world of fine jewellery and the hard work and dedication that goes into creating it… and maybe a little bit about Boodles too…! Our thanks go to The Garden Productions and Channel 4...
